UH golf teams fall in Turtle Bay event

The University of Hawai'i women's team dropped one place and the men's team fell five after yesterday's rain-delayed second round of the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational.
The final round starts today at 7:30 a.m.
The Rainbow Wahine shot 305 and are in 11th place with a 606 total. UC Davis leads the 18-team field at 290—571, followed by 10th-ranked California (287—577).
Top-ranked UCLA (289—581) moved up to third behind Punahou grad Stephanie Kono. The Bruin sophomore, ranked 10th nationally, shot 5-under-par 67 and is tied for second at 138. Kono, who shared low-round honors with USC's Lizette Salas, is one behind Demi Runas of UC Davis, who shot 69.
Freshman Brigitte Baker and senior Corie Hou lead Hawai'i after identical rounds of 76-74. They have a share of 28th along with Kaua'i High graduate Miki Ueoka (73-77), a junior at Santa Clara.
After an even-par 288 in Monday's opening round, the UH men's team shot 17-over 305 and is in eighth place in the 12-team field. San Diego State, ranked 29th nationally, is in first, 12 shots ahead of Santa Clara after rounds of 278-286. Hawai'i Pacific (307—600) is just behind UH and Brigham Young-Hawai'i (315—620) is 11th.
Five players posted sub-par rounds despite wet conditions. San Diego State's Andrew Cooley (68—138) is 6-under and holds a one-shot lead over Santa Clara's Rick Lamb (69—139).
BYU-Hawai'i's Doug Bischoff (72—143) has a share of sixth place. Freshman Cory Oride leads UH at 75—145, tied for 11th. HPU's Charlie Renfro (74—146) has a share of 13th and UH sophomore TJ Kua (75—147) is 16th.

BYUH TOPS UHH
Senior Adam Maciejewski scored at the 89:22 mark, lifting host Brigham Young-Hawai'i to a 1-0 victory over Hawai'i-Hilo yesterday in a Pacific West Conference men's soccer match.
Maciejewski took a touch pass from Prescott McArthur then drilled a 15-yard shot into the goal for the Seasiders (7-8-1, 6-5-1). Cory Cosgrave made six stops for BYUH.
Jeremy Adams had six shots, including two on goal, for Hilo (9-9, 8-4).
ELSEWHERE
• Sadie Simon scored in the 61st minute as host BYUH (13-3, 10-2) beat Hilo (3-11-4, 2-7-3), 1-0, in a women's match. Shanna Brown made 10 saves for the Vulcans.
• Ikaika Fuerte had three assists and five players scored as Hawai'i Pacific (11-2-2, 8-2-2) beat host Chaminade (3-12, 2-10), 5-0, in a men's match. Chance Bukoski, Sven Blauth, Luis Jungo, Max Anton and Alan Albertazzi each scored for the Sea Warriors.
• Dyanne Anderson scored three goals, Amber Fuller added two and Meghan Fuller and Jamie Hirai each had one as HPU (9-7-1, 7-5) beat Chaminade (0-15, 0-12), 7-1, in a women's match at Saint Louis field. Marissa Faye scored for the Silverswords.
