Hawaii allocated 146,500 doses of H1N1 vaccine; 90,000 going to schools
Hawaii has been allocated 146,500 doses of the H1N1 vaccine to date, including doses that have been ordered, banked, received or are en route to the Islands, said Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the state Health Department, at a news conference today.
Of those the DOH has reserved 90,230 doses for the H1N1 clinics that schools will begin administering on Nov. 16, Fukino said.
About 21 percent, or 12,000 of the vaccines actually available, has been accounted for but not all reports have been submitted to the department, she said. The number of administered vaccines should grow as written reports arrive at the DOH, Fukino said.
