The Hawaii Venture Capital Association will hold its Second Annual Entrepreneur of the Year Award Ceremony Nov. 18 .

Awards will be given in six categories: Young Entrepreneur, Clean Tech Entrepreneur, Inventor Entrepreneur, Digital Media Entrepreneur, Entrepreneurship Advocate and Social Entrepreneur.
This is the second year of the award ceremony. HVCA has been known for acknowledging entrepreneurs and their companies with their Venture Capital Deal of the Year Award held every January since 2001.
“This new award acknowledges the person at the center of the company who often times risks everything to bring their idea to life, weathering difficult odds, the lack of investment capital and other roadblocks to success,” HVCA said in a news release.
The event include heavy heavy pupus and a no host bar. Cost is $29 for members, faculty, Hawaii Angels, members of the Pacific Dual Use Council, TechHui, the Hawaii Science and Technology Council and Bytemark; $39 for non-members and guests; and $25 for students. Call 262-7329 to register.
