Police investigating stabbing of 16-year-old boy in park
Police were investigating a report that a 16-year-old boy was stabbed by a man in his 20s about 11 p.m. Sunday at a park in Kalihi.
The boy told police he had been drinking beer earlier in the evening and went to use the men's restroom at the park.
He said he bumped into the older man, who was leaving the restroom as he was entering, and that he exchanged words with the man.
The boy said the man took out a knife, stabbed him and ran away.
The injured boy was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
Police classified the case as a first-degree assault.
