A 33-year-old Mäkaha man was arrested Tuesday as a suspect in a sexual assault case reported earlier this year on behalf of a 14-year-old girl.

The girl said she was assaulted by a male acquaintance April 3 in the Wai'anae area.

Members of the Wai'anae Police District crime reduction unit spotted the man Tuesday and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault and five outstanding contempt-of-court warrants stemming from unrelated cases.
