LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas is conducting an internal investigation into a personnel matter involving football coach Mark Mangino.
Athletic director Lew Perkins issued a brief statement Tuesday confirming the review.
Perkins met with the entire football team Monday night. Mangino, the national coach of the year two seasons ago, was not present.
During his weekly meeting with reporters on Tuesday, Mangino declined to discuss specifics but said he had apparently lost the confidence of some people. He did not name them.
The Jayhawks (5-5, 1-5 Big 12) take a five-game losing streak into Saturday’s game at No. 2 Texas.
