$21.5M contract for Army's Fort Shafter HQ awarded
The military said it has awarded AECOM Design of Roanoke, Va., a $21.5 million contract to design and engineer the Army's new Pacific headquarters at Fort Shafter in Hawai'i.
The Army Corps of Engineers yesterday said the facility will house the Army's command and control headquarters for the Pacific.
U.S. Army Pacific commander Lt. Gen. Benjamin Mixon said the headquarters will help the Army support the U.S. alliance with South Korea and fulfill its other responsibilities in the region.
