UH 'Fall Writers’ finale set for tomorrow
The ninth Fall Writers’ Festival, now under way that the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Kapiolani Community College campuses, will wrap up tomorrow with a fiction panel and final readings given by participating writers.
With three literary genres represented — fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry — focuses on culture and location with writers from Samoa, Indonesia, the Caribbean, New Zealand, Hawai'i, Canada and the U.S. Mainland.
Guest authors include: Kanaka Maoli authors Carlos Andrade, Davianna McGregor, Brandy Nalani McDougall, Lurline McGregor and Ty Tengan who represent a new wave of literary and scholarly publishing by Hawaiians. In addition, Hawaiian playwright and alumna Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl has published a first novel.
The fiction panel, which includes Victoria Kneubuhl and Lurline McGregor, is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Manoa campus (Kuykendall 410). The final-reading session is set for 6 p.m. at KCC’s Maile Auditorium.
