UH's Salas second nationally in receiving yards
University of Hawai‘i receiver Greg Salas is second nationally in receiving yards, according to NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision statistics released today.
Salas, who took over the lead last week, dropped behind Freddie Barnes of Bowling Green.
Green has 129 catches for 1,482 yards for a 134.73 yards per game average in 11 games. He had 12 catches for 197 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-20 victory over Akron on Saturday.
Salas, a a junior from Chino, Calif., has 93 catches for 1,412 yards for a 128.36 average in 11 games. Danario Alexander of Missouri is third with 92 catches for 1,411 yards for a 128.27 average in 11 games.
Salas, playing with a sprained right foot, had eight catches for 42 yards in Hawai‘i's 17-10 overtime victory over San Jose State yesterday.
