UH campuses will be closed on day after Thanksgiving
The University of Hawaii said its 10 campuses will be closed on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
The closure is in accordance with the recent collective bargaining settlement and to reduce energy costs to meet the budget shortfall.
UH said certain critical or time-sensitive functions or specialized facilities, such as research laboratories, will continue to operate.
The university campuses will also be closed during the weeks of Christmas and New Year's from Dec. 21 to 31.
