SMU will formally accept Hawaii Bowl invitation tomorrow

Southern Methodist University and its head football coach, June Jones, will
formally accept a bid to the Dec. 24 Sherton Hawai'I Bowl tomorrow.
The school announced "an important announcement regarding the SMU football program" at 9 a.m., according to a release.
SMU will play a Western Athletic Conference representative in the Hawai'I Bowl.
Hawai'I will represent the WAC if it beats Wisconsin to become bowl eligible.
Otherwise Nevada or Fresno State is likely to play SMU.
Conference USA and the Hawai'I Bowl have declined comment on the pairing pending the SMU press conference.
C-USA athletic directors concluded a conference call on bowl pairings shortly before SMU made its announcement.
In its statement, SMU said: "SMU President R. Gerald Turner, Director of Athletics Steve Orsini and Head Football Coach June Jones will make an important announcement regarding the SMU Football program on Tuesday, Dec. 1, starting at (9 a.m. Hawaii time) in the Commons Area in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center on the campus of SMU."
