Lila Larsen Morgan, a lifelong supporter of the arts, died Sept. 30 at The Queen's Medical Center. She was 87.
Morgan was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Honolulu to Dr. Nils P. and Sarah (Lucas) Larsen. She graduated from Punahou School in 1940 and married James "Bud" Morgan in 1943.
She and her husband raised their family on the Kahuku and McBride sugar plantations until 1967, when he was transferred to Downtown Honolulu.
Morgan was a passionate supporter of the arts in Honolulu. She served on the board of the Honolulu Academy of Arts and was a docent for more than 40 years.
She and her husband also supported The Hawaii Opera Theatre and The Contemporary Museum.
Morgan is survived by her brother, Jack Larsen; her four children, Paul, Philip, Peter and Martha; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Makiki.
In lieu of flower gifts, the family asks that donations be made to the Honolulu Academy of Arts, the Parish of St. Clement's, the Bud & Lila Morgan Scholarship at Punahou or the charity of your choice.
