TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida A&M is overhauling its athletics department.
Athletic Director Bill Hayes resigned Friday, weeks after his name began circulating for the AD job at Winston-Salem State. Hayes had been at FAMU just under 2 years.
Also Friday, FAMU President James Ammons announced assistant ADs Alvin Hollins and Bob McBee were being fired.
Ammons says he'll start looking immediately for someone to replace Hayes,
Ammons has already tapped former kicker Vaughn Wilson to take Hollins' job as sports information director. It was a position Hollins held almost 30 years.
