Firefighters are using hand tools to battle a one-acre brush fire in a remote area of Pupukea near the Boy Scout camp.
The fire was first reported at 4:30 a.m.
Although relatively small, the fire is located in an area unreachable by fire hoses so crews have been working with axes and chainsaws to contain it, said Honolulu Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Robert Main.
An HFD helicopter is also on scene to drop water on the fire.
