NFL: Napa police forward Raiders probe to DA’s office

Associated Press

NAPA, Calif.— The Napa police have finished their investigation into allegations that Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable assaulted one of his assistants and forwarded the case to the district attorney’s office.

Commander Andy Lewis said Monday the case was sent to the DA’s office “very recently” and that the police had no further comment.
The police launched an investigation in August into claims that Cable assaulted defensive assistant Randy Hanson at the team’s training camp hotel in Napa.
Hanson was treated for a broken jaw. Hanson initially did not tell police who his assailant was. His attorney told NFL.com last week that the assistant told police that Cable was the coach who attacked him.
Cable declined to comment on the reports at a news conference Monday, saying he’ll let the legal process play out.
