Maui beach reopens after 10-foot tiger shark spotted

WAILUKU — Baldwin Beach on Maui's North Shore was reopened at 12:30 p.m. today after the sighting of a 10-foot tiger shark. The beach was closed at 10:30 a.m.
County of Maui Aquatics Chief Mary Kielty said the shark was observed about 400 yards offshore.
No injuries have been reported.
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources has been notified.
