3 new restaurants slated for Ward Centre
Advertiser Staff
Three new restaurants will open in Ward Centre in the next few months: Ka Restaurant and lounge in the former E & O Trading Co. spot, Pablo McGinty's where Compadre's used to be and Paparazzi, a new restaurant and nightclub by George Kail and his wife, Noriko.
The restaurants, according to a Ward Centre press release, will have different personalities:
Ka Restaurant and lounge will serve "modern fusion" cuisine at lunch and dinner and offer late-night entertainment on weekends. Ka will open in November or December.
Pablo McGinty's, an intriguing mix of Mexican and Irish influences (they call it a "pub/cantina") will serve both cuisines in different parts of the space, along with a more contemporary fusion menu plus a lineup of liquors from both cultures. It will be open from lunch to late night and live bands will perform on weekends and select weekdays. Pablo McGinty's opens in early 2010.
Paparazzi will offer lunch and an appetizer and tapas menu from chef James Kilborn. Each night, it will transform from a restaurant into a nightclub with DJs. The club/restaurant opens Oct. 23.
