Hannemann, Kenoi to promote Hawaii in Japan
Mayor Mufi Hannemann will join executives of Marriott International in Tokyo Wednesday and Thursday for its “Spirit of Aloha” campaign to promote travel to Hawaii.
“The Japan visitor market is one we treasure in Hawaii and one we must never take for granted,” Mayor Hannemann said. “It is important to continue to let Japanese visitors know what a safe and beautiful location Hawaii is for vacations.”
Big Island Mayor Billy Kenoi will join Mayor Hannemann in Tokyo Wednesday.
On Thursday, following a visit to the American Embassy, mayors Hannemann and Kenoi will take part in a series of five “Happy Calls,” meetings with wholesale travel companies who specialize in Hawaii vacations. Sumo legend Konishiki will introduce the Mayors and Marriott executive Ed Hubennette. Their presentations will be followed by a performance by dancers from the Polynesian Cultural Center.
