CPR fails to revive man who drowned at Hunakai Beach
A man who appeared to be in his 40s drowned yesterday in waters off Kahala, despite efforts by beachgoers to revive him, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department.
Paramedics and firefighters responded to a 3:38 p.m. call and found beachgoers performing CPR on the man at Hunakai Beach, Cheplic said. The people apparently brought the man ashore, Cheplic said.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at 4:21 p.m.
