EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — After a week of worry, quarterback Eli Manning was active and listed to start for the New York Giants game against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
The start will be the 83rd consecutive for Manning, dating to the middle of the 2004 season.
Manning hurt his right heel last weekend in a win over Kansas City and missed two of the Giants' three practices. However, the MVP of the 2008 Super Bowl warmed up two hours before kickoff and looked good.
Inactive for New York are cornerback Aaron Ross, defensive tackle Chris Canty, linebackers Michael Boley and Bryan Kehl, halfback Danny Ware and center Adam Koets.
Running backs Darren McFadden and Oren O'Neal, tackle Cornell Green, guard Robert Gallery and receivers Chaz Schilens, Javon Walker and Nick Miller were inactive for Oakland.
