Motorcyclist, 29, dies in head-on crash with auto
A 29-year-old man died yesterday in a motorcycle-car collision on Kaukonahua Road, police said.
The motorcyclist was traveling north on Kaukonahua, about eight-tenths of a mile north of Wilikina Drive, when he crossed the center line at a right bend in the road and hit an oncoming car at 1:13 p.m., police said.
The motorcylist was pronounced dead at the scene. The four people in the car were not hurt. The car was a Chrysler Sebring driven by a 24-year-old woman.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. Speeding, drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident, police said.
It was the 42nd traffic fatality on O'ahu this year, compared to 36 at this time last year.
