LaTech delayed ... and so is Shoji's shot at 1,000 wins
Advertiser Staff
University of Hawaii women's volleyball coach Dave Shoji’s 1,000th victory will have to wait a bit.
Tomorrow night’s Western Athletic Conference match against Louisiana Tech has been postponed after heavy rain and flooding caused the Lady Techsters to miss their scheduled flight and subsequent alternate routes to Honolulu.
The match has been postponed until 7:05 p.m. Monday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Shoji, in his 35th year as coach at UH, needs one victory to join UCLA’s Andy Banachowski as the only Division I coaches with 1,000 wins. That shot will come on Saturday when No. 3 Hawaii (15-2, 6-0) hosts New Mexico State (10-5, 5-1). The match starts at 7:05 p.m.
Those who have already purchased tickets for tomorrow's match can use them on Monday, exchange them for Saturday's NMSU match or any future match this season, or get a refund.
Exchanges and refunds must be done at the Stan Sheriff Center box office. Exchanges are not needed for Monday's Louisiana Tech match.
