Gardner McKay's memoir to be published
After nearly eight years of compiling, editing and seeking a publishing route, the memoirs of the late Honolulu writer and TV star ("Adventures in Paradise"), raconteur and sometimes social commentator Gardner McKay, will become available Thursday via bearmanormedia.com and also Amazon.com, according to McKay's widow, Madeleine McKay of Honolulu.
In a press release Madeleine McKay said she hoped that word of mouth about the book, "Journey Without a Map," would provoke interest in other unpublished McKay works.
McKay, who died after a long struggle with cancer, spent his final year gathering together his notebooks, manuscripts and jottings, working in a small studio on his Kahala-area property. The result is "Journey Without a Map,"
