The Retail Merchants of Hawaii trade association will honor outstanding retailers at its annual Hookela Awards conference and trade show Thursday.

The event — which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, awards presentation, trade show exhibits and seminars on topics such as marketing through social media — runs from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Coral Ballroom at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa.

A special award for exemplary service to the retail industry will be presented to the consulting division of local law firm Watanabe Ing LLP.

Other award winners will be announced during the event.

Cost to attend the event for members of the nonprofit trade group is $80 per person or $600 for a table of eight. For nonmembers, the cost is $95 per person or $720 for a table.
