Hawai'i's David Ishii won his first official tour senior event, capturing the Fubon Senior Open Sunday in Taipei, Taiwan.

Ishii had three birdies and a bogey in a final-round 70. He opened with 69-72 to finish at 5-under-par 211, two shots ahead of his closest challenger at Miyamar Golf Resort. He won approximately $31,000.

Ishii, 54, finished second at Fubon the previous two years. He won 14 times on Japan's regular tour.

Ishii will also play the Japan Senior Open this month and the Handa Cup in November before coming home for the Hawai'i State Open.
