HIFF awards show at 4:30 today; new film, screenings added

The awards show for the Hawaii International Film Festival takes place at 4:30 p.m. today at Dole Theatres. The event is free and no ticket is required to attend.
Among the awards being given out are Halekulani Golden Orchid Awards for Best Documentary and Best Narrative.
Award-winning films will be shown again Sunday at times to be determined. Check HIFF.org for show times.
Also today, HIFF announced new screenings of “Red Cliff” and “People I’ve Slept With,” and addition of a new film “Youth in Revolt,” a comedy. The latter movie stars Michael Cera (“Juno,” “Arrested Development,” “Year One”) and is based on the novel by C.D. Payne. It will show at 9 p.m. Thursday at Dole Theatres. The second screening of “Red Cliff” is at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, while the third showing of “The People I’ve Slept With” is at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
