Dixie State beats BYUH in women's soccer, 1-0

Carly Haycock scored in the 56th minute as Dixie State beat host Brigham Young-Hawai'i, 1-0, yesterday in a battle of the top two women's soccer teams in the Pacific West Conference.
Goalie Tonya Smith preserved the lead for the Red Storm (9-3, 8-0) when she stopped a one-on-one attack by Margaret Sekona in the final minutes. Becky Ploeger made seven saves for the Seasiders (9-3, 6-2).
• Jordan Roylance scored three goals, including the game-winner in the 107th minute, as Dixie State (5-6-1, 3-5) beat host BYUH (4-7-1, 3-4-1), 3-2, in a men's match.
• Chance Bukoski scored the game-winner in the final minute as host Hawai'i Pacific (8-2-1, 5-2-1) beat Dominican (6-8-1, 3-5-1), 2-1, in a men's match.
• Dyanne Anderson scored two goals as host Hawai'i Pacific (7-5-1, 5-3) beat Dominican (5-7-3, 3-4-2), 4-1, in a women's match.

CHAMPIONS OUSTED
David Chin and Gary Brown ousted seven-time defending champions Andrew Feldman and Larry Stubblefield, 2 and 1, yesterday in the quarterfinals of the Aloha Section PGA's Nike Golf/Golf Concepts 4-Ball Match Play Championship at Oahu Country Club.
In other quarterfinal matches: Matt Pakkala and Kevin Carll beat Mark Micale and Kyle Trenholm, 3 and 2; Regan Lee and Beau Yokomoto beat Will Coelho and Shane Abe, 3 and 2; and Kevin Hayashi and Lance Taketa beat Leland Lindsay and Joe Phengsavath, 5 and 4.
