WE'RE CRAVING: PIZZA
BIG KAHUNA'S PIZZA
If you like deep-dish pizza, the only place to get it is at Big Kahuna's Pizza near the airport. Get the Islands-inspired "Kanaka" pizza, topped with kalua pork, or go traditional Italian with sausage, sweet onions and black olives. Or get any pizza on the menu as a sandwich.
Big Kahuna's Pizza, Airport Trade Center, 550 Paiea St., 833-5588
CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN
From classic pizza toppings like pepperoni, olives and mushrooms, to more creative combinations like bacon, lettuce and tomatoes or pear and gorgonzola, CPK gets it right. Our fave? The new cheeseburger pizza, topped with ground Angus beef, caramelized onions, and mozzarella and American cheeses.

FORMAGGIO WINE BAR
Most people go to Formaggio for the 50 wine varieties by the glass. We go for the pizza. Simple, thin-crust pizzas that are like Rome meets Wolfgang Puck — modern with a rustic, classic touch.
Formaggio Wine Bar, 2919 Kapi'olani Blvd., 739-7719
ROUND TABLE PIZZA
At Round Table Pizza, it's the King Arthur Supreme that keeps us coming back. It's piled with three cheeses, pepperoni, Italian sausage, dry salami, Portuguese sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, yellow onions and black olives.
Round Table Pizza, two locations: 150 Ka'iulani Ave., 944-1199; 1020 Keolu Drive, 261-4644
Z PIZZA
Z Pizza is one of the few places on the island where you can order pizza by the slice. And it's the only place to get healthy, organic varieties of pizza like the Berkeley Soy Cheese Veggie — pesto, soy cheese , veggie burger crumbles, zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, red onions and bell peppers.
Z Pizza, Ward Centre, 1200 Ala Moana Blvd.
SMALL BITES
SWEET AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE
Besides the melt-in-your-mouth pastries and the rustic loaves of freshly baked bread on display at Fendu Boulangerie at Manoa Marketplace, chef Niel Koep makes a perfect curried chicken salad sandwich ($6.50, 988-4310). He balances the fragrant curry with plump raisins and just the right amount of mayo, and serves it up on his own house-made sweet onion naan bread.
PAPARAZZI FLASH
Ward Centre's second floor is getting new life after the closing of three restaurants ó Brew Moon, Compadres and E&O Trading Co. ó left the upper level of the retail complex nearly vacant. The first of three new restaurants slated to open there will do so tomorrow when Paparazzi opens to the public in the space that was once Brew Moon. The restaurant-night club was still under construction last week, but tonight it celebrates a private opening, followed by an official grand opening tomorrow. Under the management of George Kail, who was the manager of Pink Cadillac, Paparazzi will serve lunch and dinner, and will host ongoing fashion events, nightly DJs and parties for the "fashion conscious" crowd.
