"Aloha Shorts," a locally produced radio program of writings from Bamboo Ridge Press, is taking on the theme of "Man-Kine."
The live taping, set to begin at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in Atherton Performing Arts Studio, offers a peek at the soon-to-be-released Issue No. 94 by Bamboo Ridge Press, a collection of stories and poems on a wide range of subjects. The three pieces selected by the "Aloha Shorts" co-producers for broadcast focus on issues of masculine identity. Among the readers: state Rep. Marcus R. Oshiro, D-39th (Wahiawä, Whitmore Village, Poamoho).
Reservations for seats at the free event are strongly recommended; call 955-8821. Shows tape before a live audience on the first Sunday of every month and are broadcast every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. on Hawaii Public Radio's KIPO 89.3 FM.
