Preps: Chicago high school running back dies after game

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — A Chicago high school football player has died after collapsing on the sideline after an apparent asthma attack during a game.
Curie High School running back Quaashi Chandler died Friday night at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
He fell to the sideline during the game against Bolingbrook High School with 41.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter. The game was not completed.
Chandler was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He had a history of asthma. His cause of death has not been confirmed.
Players, coaches and administrators were in tears on the field Friday.
Curie head coach Tyson LeBlanc called Chandler "one of our toughest players."
Curie officials met with the football team at the southwest side school Saturday.
