GREEN BAY, Wis. — Quarterback Brian Brohm, wide receiver Ruvell Martin and running back Tyrell Sutton were among 18 players cut by the Green Bay Packers to meet the NFL-mandated 53-player roster limit Saturday.

Brohm, a second-round draft pick last year who once was considered a potential franchise quarterback during his college career at Louisville, could be a candidate for the Packers' practice squad if he is not picked up by another team.

Oft-injured defensive end Justin Harrell was among the four players placed on injured reserve. Green Bay also made a trade Saturday afternoon, sending offensive lineman Tony Moll to the Baltimore Ravens for defensive back Derrick Martin.

Sutton, an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern who was impressive during training camp, also is expected to draw interest from other teams. Martin played 41 games over the previous three seasons, making nine starts and catching six touchdowns.

Also released Saturday were wide receiver Jake Allen, cornerback Trevor Ford, guard/tackle Andrew Hartline, wide receiver Kole Heckendorf, linebacker Danny Lansanah, running back Kregg Lumpkin, defensive end Alfred Malone, tackle Jamon Meredith, nose tackle Dean Muhtadi, linebacker Cyril Obiozor, cornerback Joe Porter, tackle Dane Randolph, safety Anthony Smith, defensive end Ronald Talley and nose tackle Anthony Toribio.

The other three players placed on injured reserve were cornerback Pat Lee, tight end Evan Moore and safety Charlie Peprah.

Moll appeared in 39 games for the Packers over three seasons, including 18 starts. Martin, a sixth-round pick in the 2006 draft, played in 28 games and made three starts in his first three seasons in Baltimore.
