MLB: Cal Ripken's '8' monument stolen from Md. ballpark

BALTIMORE — Baltimore police say four young men stole an aluminum No. 8 that commemorates Orioles great Cal Ripken outside the Camden Yards ballpark.
The four were arrested early Wednesday, about two hours after the theft, and the monument was recovered.
The Orioles have a series of 4-foot aluminum monuments depicting retired uniform numbers outside one entrance to the downtown ballpark.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi (goo-lee-EL-mee) says closed-circuit TV cameras caught the four men removing the monument, placing it in the back of a pickup truck and driving away.
They were later arrested in east Baltimore after officers responded to a report of a disturbance. Guglielmi says the suspects are in their late teens or early 20s.
