NFL: Chiefs QB Cassel may not be ready for opener

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel’s status for Saturday’s game at Baltimore is still up in the air.
Cassel was in full pads for the second time this week on Wednesday, though he didn’t participate in all the drills because of an injured left knee.
Cassel was injured in Kansas City’s second preseason game on Aug. 29, when he was pulled down from behind by Seattle’s Brandon Mebane.
Chiefs coach Todd Haley said Cassel will be evaluated later in the week to determine if he can play against the Ravens and their stingy defense. Brodie Croyle will likely get the start if he can’t.
