NFL: Redskins FB Mike Sellers gets contract extension

ASHBURN, Va. — Washington Redskins fullback Mike Sellers has signed a contract extension.
Sellers stayed away from much of the team’s offseason workouts because he was unhappy with his previous deal. He says a meeting with owner Dan Snyder led to a new agreement.
Sellers is in his ninth season with the Redskins. He left in 2001 to join Cleveland, but he encountered off-the-field problems and spent two years in the CFL before coming back to Washington in 2004.
Sellers made his first Pro Bowl last season. He was elected a special teams captain for this year’s team.
