Two people were arrested Monday evening after they allegedly beat a 16-year-old boy accused of eating too much of the food at a family dinner in Waimanalo.

Police were called to the home about 7:30 p.m. and arrested a 32-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, whom they described as the boy's relatives. Both were booked on suspicion of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

The boy told police the woman beat him repeatedly until the man joined in and choked him until he almost passed out.
