HILO — Hawaii County police are asking the public’s help in finding a 50-year-old woman who went missing from a Hilo care home yesterday.

Cheryl Pavao was last seen leaving her care home on Hokulani Street at 6:30 a.m. as a passenger in the Hawaii Economic Opportunity Council transport van. Pavao was transported to Hale Oluea Clubhouse on Kilauea Avenue and was expected to return to the care home at 3 p.m. She has not been seen since.
Pavao has been known to travel to the Puna area, specifically Hawaiian Paradise Park. She suffers from a medical condition that requires medication.
She is described as 5 feet 1, 108 pounds with a tan complexion and shoulder-length brown hair. Pavao was last seen wearing a brown jacket and blue denim jeans.
Police ask that anyone with information on her whereabouts call Officer Blaine Morishita at 961-2211 or the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311.
