Colt Brennan has surgery on left hip

Former University of Hawaii and current Washington Redskins quarterback Colt Brennan had surgery on Monday in Colorado on the torn labrum in his left hip.
Brennan, who is on injured reserve and out for the year, had a similar operation on his right hip last year. He's expected to need three months of rehabilitation before resuming football activities.
Brennan was the team's sixth-round draft pick in 2008. He was the No. 3 quarterback behind starter Jason Campbell and veteran Todd Collins last year. This year, he battled fellow Heisman Trophy finalist and former Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel for the No. 3 spot. Daniel was eventually cut and picked up by the New Orleans Saints.
