Hawaiian Airlines said it will add three flights between the Islands and California next summer.

The state's largest airline also said it will debut the first two of its new Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its Los Angeles to Honolulu route in June.

Staring June 17, Hawaiian will add two daily transPacific flights to Maui, one from Oakland and the other from San Diego. The carrier will fly an additional Honolulu-to-Los Angeles flight on June 17.

Hawaiian Airlines previously said it plans to add 170 jobs by early next year to staff the first of the Airbus jets.

Shares of Hawaiian Holdings Inc., the airline's parent company, closed up 3 cents at $8.38 yesterday on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

GAS PRICES STILL ON THE RISE STATEWIDE

The average price of a gallon of regular gas in Hawai'i rose to $3.26 this week, its highest level so far this year, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

The Hawai'i average price was up 3 cents a gallon from a week earlier and 12 cents from a month ago.

"Hawai'i residents still have not seen some relief at the pump, even though the prices in most parts of the Mainland have declined," said AAA Hawaii Regional Manager Richard Velazquez.

In Honolulu, the average price was $3.26 a gallon, up 3 cents from a week ago and 12 cents from a month ago.

The average price in Hilo was $3.39, up 5 cents from a week ago and 15 cents from the same time last month.

In Wailuku, the average price was $3.75, up 2 cents from the previous week and 8 cents from a month ago.

CHEVRON CITED FOR REFINERY DISCHARGE

The Clean Water Branch of the state Department of Health says it has cited the Chevron Hawaii Refinery on O'ahu for water-quality violations.

Officials say the refinery discharged a red-colored effluent of unknown composition from its foul water treatment plant to the ocean over a five-day period in April.

They say the violation was discovered April 27 during an inspection of the facility. Warning signs were posted at nearby coastal areas.

The officials say a penalty of $43,500 is being sought.
