The much-anticipated film about Princess Ka'iulani, shot in part at 'Iolani Palace, is going to be showcased Oct. 16 at the Hawaii International Film Festival.
The world premier chronicling the princess's life will be shown at Hawai'i Theatre. The film name? After much debate, filmmakers settled on "Barbarian Princess."

"This film is going to be shown around the world, so I think part of the reason it was named this way is because most of the world outside of Hawai'i can't say 'Ka'iulani.' It's a fascinating story and film." HIFF runs Oct. 15 through Oct. 25. ...
