UH math professor arrested for alleged sexual assault
A 63-year-old University of Hawai'i math professor was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of 10 counts of sexual assault.
David A. Stegenga of Enchanted Lake in Kailua was arrested at 10:30 a.m. yesterday at the UH-Manoa campus. He was booked on five counts each of first-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault.
Stegenga remained in police custody last night pending charges.
Stegenga has been a math teacher at UH since 1980, according to his Web site.
