UH's Salas leads nation in receiving yards per game

Hawai‘i slotback Greg Salas continues to lead the nation in total receiving yards and receiving yards per game, according to the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision statistics released today.
Salas has 20 catches for 479 yards in three games for the Warriors (2-1) for an average of 159.67 yards per game. He had six catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-33 loss to UNLV on Saturday.
Vincent Brown of San Diego State is second with a 141.33 average (424 total receiving yards in three games).
Kealoha Pilares is tied for fourth in the nation in receptions per game with a 9.0 average. Pilares had 13 catches for 146 yards against UNLV. Bowling Green's Freddie Barnes is first with 14.0 catches per game.
UH quarterback Greg Alexander is first in the nation in total offense with 446 yards per game (1,234 yards passing, 104 yards rushing).
Alexander is second in total passing yards (1,234) and passing yards per game with 411.33. Texas Tech's Taylor Potts is first in both categories with 1,281 and 427.
