NFL: Buffalo Bills player reports $400K theft from home
Association Press
Buffalo Bills safety Donte Whitner returned home from Sunday’s win against Tampa Bay at Ralph Wilson Stadium to find $400,000 worth of jewelry missing.
Whitner spokeswoman Patrice Horton tells The Associated Press that Whitner is hurt by the theft and just wants his belongings back.
Police in Hamburg, the suburb where Whitner lives, are releasing few details and are not identifying Whitner as the victim.
Detective Lt. Kevin Trask will say only that a larceny was reported Sunday night at the home of a Bills player. He’s declining comment on when the theft may have happened or whether there were signs of forced entry.
The theft comes a week after teammate Leodis McKelvin’s lawn in the same suburb was vandalized by two teenagers following a Bills loss.
