Aloha Festivals Floral Parade again announced in Hawaiian on Saturday

For the second consecutive year, the Aloha Festivals Floral Parade will be announced in Hawaiian.
Lilinoe Andrews, director of communications for ‘Aha Punana Leo, and co-emcees Keala Chock and Carl Rosetti will provide this unique cultural experience at the Royal Hawaiian Center reviewing stand.
The 63rd Annual Aloha Festivals Floral Parade, part of Aloha Festivals 2009, “Hula, Let the Story Be Told,” takes place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 along Kalakaua Avenue, beginning at Ala Moana Park and ending at Kapiolani Park.
The Annual Aloha Festivals Floral Parade will feature halau hula performing on flatbed trucks, a procession of equestrian units, floats with Hawaiian flowers, marching bands and decorated vehicles. The 63rd Annual Floral Parade will pay homage to the art of hula, which is this year’s Aloha Festivals theme.
Honoring the canonization of Father Damien this October, this year’s parade will feature a special float created by Hawaii’s Catholic Diocese including hula dancers, a band, and 1,000 Catholics marching in procession.
