A Punahou School seventh-grader will be featured with first lady Michelle Obama tomorrow morning as part of a Let's Move! town hall on C-SPAN.

The broadcast begins at 5 a.m., Hawaii time, and can be seen on Oceanic Channel 48.

Matthew Shimura won first place in the middle school category of C-SPAN's StudentCam competition, in which kids produce and enter 5- to 8-minute documentaries on a political topic.

Shimura's video — "Childhood Obesity" — beat out more than 1,000 entries.

Childhood obesity has become the first lady's priority project and she has launched a nationwide effort to encourage healthier eating and more exercise for American children.

The centerpiece of the initiative has been creation of the Let's Move! campaign. Its Web site — www.letsmove.gov — provides information and support for parents and kids.
