Big Island police and fire rescue crews are looking for a cruise ship employee who disappeared while swimming at Boiling Pots in Hilo.

Police have opened a missing person case for Ryan Ritzel, 24, of Soquel, Calif., who was swimming with five co-workers this afternoon when he disappeared.

Ritzel is described as Caucasian, 5-foot9, with a slim build, short brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing white and blue swimming trunks.

Anyone with information n Ritzel's whereabouts is asked to call the Hawai'i Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311.
