Hawaii County police say they arrested a man and woman Monday on drug charges.

Hazel Silva, 24, of Kailua, Kona, and Tuivai Uele, 26, of California, were arrested follwing a traffic stop on Route 190 near the Waikoloa junction. Police recovered 11 grams of crystal methamphetamine and glass smoking pipe containing marijuana. Police said the drugs had a street value of $3,500.

Silva and Uele were each charged with meth trafficking, promoting a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Silva also was arrested and charged on a bench warrant. Her bail was set at $56,250.

Uele's bail was set at $281,000.
