'Ewa Beach man, a soldier, killed in motorcycle crash

Advertiser Staff

A 45-year-old 'Ewa Beach man was killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle crash in Waipahu.

Police said the man was an active-duty U.S. Army soldier. His name was not being disclosed last night by the city medical examiner's office.

Police said the man was traveling on the east-bound off-ramp from Fort Weaver Road to Farrington Highway when he lost control of his Kawasaki VX6R. The motorcycle came to rest on Farrington Highway.

The man was in critical condition when paramedics took him to Hawaii Medical Center West, where he died.

Police said no other vehicles were involved and that speed might have been a factor. They said the man was not wearing a helmet.
