Historical exhibition opens today at Japanese Cultural Center

The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii has a free historical exhibition today today looking at the ways the Japanese community holds seasonal celebrations.

The exhibit is free and open to the public today only. Gallery rates will apply starting tomorrow. Go to www.jcch.com for the rates.

Center members have free admission.

The exhibit includes New Year's bon festival, cherry blossom viewing an dhow these celebrations have evolved into local practices. The exhibit runs through June 18 and is sponsored by Island Insurance Foundation.
