HARTFORD, Conn. — It doesn't matter what team Maya Moore plays on. The UConn All-American usually ends up on the winning side.
Even when the games don't count.
Moore scored 32 points during four 10-minute scrimmages Sunday between the USA Basketball Women's National and Select teams before an estimated crowd of 3,000 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.
The exhibition was part of the weeklong USA Basketball Women's National team spring training in preparation for the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The 16-team tournament begins Sept. 23.
To speed the tempo, there was a 24-second shot clock and players had 8 seconds to bring the ball over the midcourt line.
Moore has helped UConn to back-to-back national championships and 78 consecutive wins.
