The National Weather Service has posted a high-surf advisory for north- and west-facing shores on Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai and north-facing shores on Maui.

The weather service says waves on north- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai will be 12 to 18 feet today before slowly dropping during the night.

Surf on Oahu is expected to be 12 to 16 feet on north-facing shores and 8 to 12 feet on west-facing shores.

Maui and Molokai will see 10- to 15-foot surf on their north-facing shores and 8 to 12 on west-facing shores.

The advisory remains in effect until 6 tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, it will be a warm and breezy day, with partly sunny conditions.

The weather service says highs will be 78 to 83 degrees, with northeast winds at about 15 mph with higher gusts.
